Year 9 Bird Sculptures

Year 9 have been making sculpture this term, the theme has been birds. Pupils began by looking at a piece of sculpture called  ‘Baboon’ by the artist Picasso. This is an asemblage created from scrap metal, recycled materials and layers of plaster. Students then designed and made their own pieces of sculpture using plastic recycled bottles, paper plates, scraps of card and mod rock. Pupils completed their sculptures using coloured tissue paper or acrylic paint and bronzing powder.
